Pickering Town Guided Walks

Every Monday from 10.30 to 12.00 noon or later finish, starting May 6 to October 28. Guided walks and talks around Pickering's historical centre, with a duration of at least one and a half hours. Your friendly guide will try to answer any questions. Additional - dedicated guided walks can be arranged for groups of six or more persons. Please make special arrangements through Pickering Tourist Information Centre.




Mozart and Rutter

Two well-known local choirs, The Stamford Bridge Singers and the Chanticleer Singers, will be joining forces to perform a very special concert in St Peter's Church, Norton-on-Derwent. The programme will consist of Mozart's 'Spatzenmesse' (Sparrow Mass) conducted by Stamford Bridge Singers' Musical Director, Michael Wiles, and John Rutter's 'Requiem' conducted by Chanticleer Singers' Musical Director, Jane Sturmheit. The joint choir, which will number more than seventy singers, will be accompanied by Ray Sturdy on the organ plus a small orchestra. Tickets will cost £10 (£7 concessions, children and students free) and may be obtained from Sally Craggs (01653 691804) and Rosemary Downey (01904 787181).

A Cabinet of Curiosities

Come and have fun with the wonderfully intriguing objects from the ‘Harrison Collection’. We will have you guessing and grimacing! Teams of 4-6 people, smaller numbers can still book and will be organised into a team on the night. Pea and pie supper also included. £12 per person.

Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge

Join over 100 cyclists in the 3rd running of this 2 day challenge to cycle 144 miles  around the stunning Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route. The event raises funds for Ryedale Special Families and includes an overnight camp complete with bbq, bar and live music. Entry is £80.00 and includes meals, luggage transport and full back-up support.

The Ryedale Show was established in 1855 and is a traditional Country Show renowned for its very high standard of livestock and Trade Stands that attend in ever growing numbers each year. The Show is run with both the farming community and townspeople's interests in mind and there are attractions for everyone of all ages.
