Last Scene of All is set in a retirement home for ageing thespians. Ibsenite and Shakespearean actresses, Francesca and Anthea vie to be queen bee. Showgirl Cherry and one time Ingénue Bobbie are happily unaffected by the warring queens. Gladys, Dame Anthea's dresser, doggedly irons everything in sight while offering pithy comment on the scene being played out. The scene is completed by the presence of retired actors Tony Redfern and Arthur Pendragon, both of whom have histories that affect the group.
In Last Tango in Little Grimley, the Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society is in trouble. Membership has dwindled to four - the audiences aren't much bigger - and if they don't come up with some rent money soon, they're going to be thrown out "There's only one thing that sells tickets these days" argues Gordon the Chairman, "Sex!"
Thus begins the chaotic and hilarious build-up to an evening of extraordinary home-grown drama - but how will the locals react?
